What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Jiu Jitsu is a martial art that uses grappling and submissions rather than striking. Jiu Jitsu isn’t about strength; it is about leverage, momentum, balance and pressure. When these skills are refined and combined with proper technique, you can overtake a much larger opponent. One can train Jiu Jitsu as a sport, for competition or tournaments, or simply to stay in shape. It can be practiced with a Gi or NoGi, and it is a part of Mixed Martial Arts.

We do this by providing high quality jiu jitsu instruction that encourages high personal standards, develops a solid foundation in self defense and physical fitness, and models integrity, respect, and self control.

Our Classes

Fundamentals

Essential for beginners as well as those focused on perfecting their game. Focus is on theory, principals, basic techniques, body mechanics, and self defense. Gi required.

Advanced​

Advanced students with mastery in body awareness, mechanics, and self-defense focus on enhancing their Jiu Jitsu repertoire. Emphasis is on developing a robust offensive and defensive game, incorporating technical flows. Gi is mandatory.

NoGi​

A more Advanced class. NoGi is a clinch/ground fighting style that focuses on leverage, momentum, balance, weight transmission, and pressure. Shorts and a rash guard are required.

Open Mat

A non-instructional class where students can choose to drill the techniques or participate in live timed rolls.

Mixed Martial Arts

A class consisting of boxing, kickboxing, and grappling. Cardio conditioning is included in this class. Live sparring optional.

Jiu Jitsu Jr. Kids and Kids

This program, designed for children aged 5-7 and 8-12, focuses on Jiu Jitsu to improve body awareness, coordination, confidence, discipline, focus, and respect. Classes include technique practice, skill drills, and live rolling for self-defense.

Mini Kids

Modeled after Jiu Jitsu kids, this class is for 3-4 year old students. Games are played to build Jiu Jitsu readiness and Jiu Jitsu positions are taught.
